In Mathura, a 55-year-old man, Pawan Chaudhary, was killed by his son and nephew, both minors, after he allegedly sexually abused his daughters, aged 13 and 14. Chaudhary had a criminal record that included robbery, kidnapping, and molestation. His brother informed the police that Chaudhary had previously been accused of murdering his wife and mother. The two girls had sought refuge with their uncle during Diwali to escape the alleged abuse. Their brother was already staying with their uncle to continue his education. When the boys heard the girls’ cries, they attempted to intervene, but Chaudhary attacked them. In the struggle, the minors took Chaudhary’s homemade pistol and a sword and fatally injured him.
Superintendent of Police Suresh Chandra Rawat stated that Chaudhary had multiple cases against him in his home state of Rajasthan. The investigation indicated that his daughters faced severe mistreatment, leading them to refuse to live with him. Although their uncle tried to enroll them in a hostel, Chaudhary brought them back. Following the incident, the police detained the two boys. During questioning, the children detailed the ongoing abuse, and Chaudhary’s brother confirmed their accounts, stating that he had also attempted to harass his sister-in-law.
