Patna: Amid a deepening crisis within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) following a significant loss in the Bihar Assembly elections, Tej Pratap Yadav has issued a strong condemnation of individuals he refers to as “Jaichands,” highlighting betrayal as his family’s internal conflict becomes public. The party, which was once the dominant political entity in Bihar, now holds only 25 seats. This loss has sparked dissatisfaction within its ranks and intensified divisions within the Lalu Prasad family. Rohini Acharya, the daughter of the RJD leader and recognized for her kidney donation to her father, has resigned from both the party and the family, making allegations against Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and close aides Sanjay and Rameez.
Her resignation follows Tej Pratap’s own marginalization from party matters. Tej Pratap reacted strongly to Rohini’s departure, sharing a heartfelt message on the Instagram account of the Janshakti Janata Dal. “Yesterday’s incident has shaken my heart to the core,” he expressed.
“I endured what was done to me, but the insult to my sister is intolerable under any circumstances.” Citing reports that Rohini was “picked up by her slippers,” he conveyed that the incident had left him “burning with anger.” He accused unnamed individuals of clouding Tejashwi Yadav’s judgment, cautioning that “the consequences of this injustice will be extremely dire” and that “the reckoning of time is very harsh.” In a direct appeal to Lalu Prasad, Tej Pratap framed the discord as a fight for family honor rather than party politics. “Father, give me a signal,” he urged. “Just one gesture from you, and the people of Bihar will bury these Jaichands in the ground themselves.
This battle is for the honor of a family, the dignity of a daughter, and the self-respect of Bihar.” His message, signed “a son and a brother,” signifies the latest escalation in a political and familial rift that threatens to further weaken the RJD during a vulnerable time.
