Vaishali: The counting for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 commenced at 8 a.m., and the initial rounds have produced surprising developments. Early indications show a mixed outcome, with the NDA performing well in several constituencies while the Grand Alliance holds leads in many critical areas. The early figures suggest that the ultimate result could still vary. A prominent highlight has emerged from the Mahua constituency in Vaishali district, where Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son, is falling behind in the early counts. Competing this year for the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, he has garnered only 1,078 votes so far, significantly trailing RJD’s Mukesh Kumar Roshan, who has obtained 4,607 votes.
The most notable surprise in Mahua has been the rise of LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate Sanjay Kumar Singh, who leads with 6,901 votes, surpassing both RJD and JSJD candidates. AIMIM’s Amit Kumar is positioned third with 1,587 votes, leaving Tej Pratap in fourth place. The race remains competitive, as several independent candidates are also trying to make their mark as the counting progresses. In the Lalganj seat, RJD candidate Shivani Shukla, daughter of influential figure Munna Shukla, is exhibiting a robust performance. She leads by 8,785 votes, providing her with a strong early advantage over NDA’s Sanjay Kumar Singh.
