Tej Pratap Yadav, the leader of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), has reported facing significant threats to his life, leading the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to upgrade his security to the Y-plus category. During a press conference in Patna, Yadav stated, “My security has been increased because there is a threat to my life. People will get me killed. There are many enemies.” Security agencies recently provided a threat assessment to the Home Ministry, which resulted in the decision to assign Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel for his protection.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who has been expelled from both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his family by Lalu Prasad Yadav, currently leads the Janshakti Janata Dal and is running for the Mahua seat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The constituency held its first phase of voting on November 6, where Yadav competed against candidates from the NDA, Jan Suraaj, and the RJD, represented by his brother Tejashwi Yadav’s nominee Mukesh Kumar Raushan. Earlier this week, Tej Pratap attracted attention after he was spotted greeting BJP MP Ravi Kishan at Patna airport. He later clarified that their meetings were coincidental.
