Congress calls Pilot's fast an anti-party activity, but calls him an undeniable asset

Jaipur, 30 April (). Congress’s silence on former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot is now seen breaking in political circles. Not long ago, party in-charge of Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa termed Pilot’s one-day fast against the inaction of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot against former CM Vasundhara Raje as an act of indiscipline. Now Congress stalwarts are calling him a boon for the party.

Recently, Pilot was left out of the list of star campaigners for the Karnataka Assembly elections. Since then speculation was rife whether Pilot was still an asset to the party.

However, the recent stand by the veteran leaders has made it clear that the pilot is still being seen as an asset of the high command.

According to Congress national secretary and co-incharge of Rajasthan, Virendra Singh Rathore, the pilot issue is not just a challenge but a domestic matter. Pilot has an image of a young and energetic leader both in the government and the organization as well as in the entire country.

Rathore said that it is our good fortune that along with experienced leaders, energetic leaders are also with us. Together we will move forward.

Rathore was talking to the media on Thursday after reaching Jaipur for the first time after becoming co-incharge.

Amrita Dhawan, the new co-in-charge secretary of the Congress in Rajasthan, also indicated that the party is in no hurry to take action in the Sachin Pilot case.

Unlike other parties, we (Congress) never behead anyone for expressing our views, Dhawan said. We listen to everyone.

Amrita also reached Jaipur on Thursday. She was talking to the media at her hotel.

On the issue of Sachin Pilot, Amrita Dhawan said, the party has sent us with folded hands to strengthen the Congress. You can say whatever you want on the party platform, everyone is given a chance, everyone will be heard. Our party is not like BJP and other parties that if you speak, your neck will be cut. We will not do this. We will listen to everyone.

Amrita said, there are differences and differences in the party. Differences happen even at home. Even within the family, sometimes the views of the children may differ from those of the parents. Parties are also like families. Opinions may differ. But we will fight the elections together. Congress party is a family.

In fact, in a recent program, Ashok Gehlot told the media that they should not try to make us (Pilot and Gehlot) fight. We have done a survey which says we are coming back to power.

With veterans having less voice on the pilot issue, it is clear that the party still sees them as an asset. This was also indicated by Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra.
