Srinagar, May 22 (). A delegation of G-20 countries arrived here on Monday to attend a meeting at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) on the banks of the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar. The third meeting of the Tourism Working Group of G20 countries is being organized here.
Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant received the delegates at the Srinagar International Airport.
The delegates drove to SKICC where they were accorded a traditional welcome with turbans, tilak and flowers.
Singapore has the largest delegation of 60 delegates, while China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia did not participate.
The formal meeting of the group will discuss five key priority areas – green tourism, digitization, skilling, MSME and destination management.
As part of the elaborate security arrangements, the road leading to the venue will be closed for vehicular movement for two days. The local traffic police has already issued an advisory urging people to take alternate routes.
