Mumbai, April 28 (). A special CBI court will pronounce its verdict on Friday, ie today, in the suicide case of actress-model Jiah Khan, in which Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi is the main accused.
On the midnight of June 3, 2013, 25-year-old Jiah Khan was found hanging in her flat in Sagar Sangeet building in posh Juhu area.
Jiah was said to be in a relationship with Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab’s son Sooraj.
Jiah left a suicide note, which included Sooraj Pancholi’s name. At that time actor Sooraj Pancholi was trying to establish a foothold in Bollywood.
A week after the incident, Sooraj was booked under IPC section 306 for allegedly abetting Jiah’s suicide.
Subsequently, following repeated pleas by Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan and directions from the Bombay High Court on July 3, 2014, the case was handed over to the CBI.
In her note, Jiah reportedly talked about her intimate relationship with Sooraj as well as alleged physical abuse, mental and physical torture.
In the case, the prosecution had recorded statements of 22 witnesses, including Jiah’s mother Rabia, while advocate Prashant Patil appeared for Suraj.
