Vivo has officially launched OriginOS 6 in India, its latest operating system based on Android 16. This update features a significant visual redesign, performance enhancements, and extensive AI integration, marking a notable advancement in the company’s software offerings. The rollout will commence gradually for Vivo and iQOO smartphones in November 2025, following its introduction in China. A key highlight of OriginOS 6 is its redesigned interface, centered around a concept named ‘Light and Shadow Space.’ This design framework employs natural lighting and shadow effects to achieve a realistic look. Notifications are now displayed in stacked layouts for improved clarity, and new Gradual Blur effects help differentiate text and icons from the background.
Additionally, Vivo has introduced Mirror Screen Effects, which adapt visuals dynamically based on the viewing angle, along with AI-driven lighting interactions for a more engaging appearance. The lock screen has also been completely revamped using the Huarong Grid system, allowing users to customize their experience by freely placing clocks, widgets, and photos. OriginOS 6 prioritizes smooth and natural interactions with features like Elastic Motion, Frame Morphing, and Frame Blur, designed to imitate real-world physics, ensuring intuitive responses to taps and swipes. The new Seamless Transition system further reduces abrupt app-switching, providing a consistently fluid user experience. Behind the scenes, Vivo has implemented the Blue River Performance Engine, integrating a dual-rendering framework and photon transmission technology.
This results in an 11% improvement in frame stability and a 35% increase in rendering efficiency. The Super Core Architecture enables 11% faster app launches and 14% quicker multitasking, while the Photonic Architecture boosts heavy-load performance by 230% and enhances memory recovery by 15%. These upgrades ensure the system remains stable and responsive, even under demanding conditions. AI integration is a significant aspect of OriginOS 6. The upgraded Scene Intelligence 2.0 enhances battery life by up to 18% during gaming, calls, or video playback. Other notable AI features include AI Photo Cleanup for removing unwanted objects from photos, Xiao V Circle Search 2.0 for identifying products or text on-screen, and Little V Memory 2.0 for organizing screen content.
The Vivo Input Method includes predictive typing and conversational search, along with an Instant Ticketing Engine to simplify travel and event bookings. OriginOS 6 also boosts cross-device connectivity through the Vivo Office Suite, facilitating easy file sharing among phones, PCs, and web browsers. Users can transfer photos by shaking two devices together, and new continuity features mimic iPad-like multitasking. For security, Vivo introduces CHAD AI Security, safeguarding data from chip to cloud. This system is CAICT-certified for AI safety and recognized by DNV, Common Criteria, UL, and ioXt for strong privacy standards.
The rollout schedule includes: November 2025 for Vivo X Fold5, X200 series, iQOO 13 series, and iQOO Neo10 series; December 2025 for Vivo X Fold3 Pro, X100 series, iQOO 12, and Neo9 series; January to March 2026 for Vivo X90, S30, iQOO 11, Z10, X Flip, S20, and iQOO Z9; and April to May 2026 for mid-range models like Vivo S18, Y500, Y300, and iQOO Neo7. The flagship Vivo X300 and iQOO 15 will come preloaded with OriginOS 6, heralding a smarter, faster, and more interconnected Vivo experience in India.
