Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing for a significant launch this month, confirming that its most powerful smartphone to date, the Redmi K90 Pro Max, will be unveiled on October 23 in China. This device is considered a milestone for Redmi, featuring flagship-grade hardware, advanced display technology, and an extensive battery, all aimed at delivering a premium experience at an attractive price point. One of the standout features of the Redmi K90 Pro Max is its enormous 7,560mAh battery, the largest ever included in a Redmi device. It supports 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging, providing exceptional convenience for users.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the phone is compatible with 100W PPS chargers, positioning it as one of the most charging-friendly options available. Under the hood, the Redmi K90 Pro Max is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making it one of the first smartphones to utilize this high-end processor. To enhance performance, the device features Xiaomi’s new AI Independent Display Chip D2, which optimizes power management and visual quality in real time. Additionally, Xiaomi has incorporated its largest vapour chamber cooling system to ensure sustained performance during demanding gaming and multitasking activities, aiming to create a seamless experience for users.
The K90 Pro Max boasts a 6.9-inch OLED display with a full RGB sub-pixel arrangement, enhancing color richness and clarity. It supports DC dimming across all brightness levels, includes a circular polariser, and can dim down to 1 nit, making it ideal for reducing eye strain during night use. These improvements reflect Xiaomi’s commitment to user comfort and display quality. For photography aficionados, the Redmi K90 Pro Max introduces an advanced camera system. It includes a 1/1.31-inch main sensor, reportedly the same powerful unit found in the Xiaomi 17 series, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Notably, it features a periscope telephoto lens—an industry first for Redmi—capable of 5x optical zoom and 10x “lossless” zoom.
The camera module design is similar to that of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, but it replaces the secondary display with a Bose-tuned loudspeaker, ensuring high-quality audio. Initial teasers reveal two color options—a white and gold rear finish and a denim blue variant—each reflecting Redmi’s unique design aesthetics. The K90 Pro Max will be launched alongside the standard Redmi K90 and the Redmi Watch 6 during the event. While the K90 Pro Max will first be available in China, reports indicate that it may later be released globally under Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand. Currently, a launch in India seems unlikely, although the company may reconsider this in the future.
With its combination of power, battery efficiency, and innovative features, the Redmi K90 Pro Max is set to elevate performance standards in the mid-premium smartphone market.
