Yann LeCun, a prominent figure in artificial intelligence and Meta’s Chief AI Scientist, is set to leave the company to establish his own AI startup. According to a prominent publication, LeCun, who has headed Meta’s Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) lab since 2013, is already in preliminary talks to secure funding for his new venture. LeCun’s departure coincides with notable internal changes at Meta. CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently restructured the company’s AI division by creating a new Superintelligence Labs unit and appointing former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang as the new Chief AI Officer.
