On the birth anniversary of the iconic playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, the teaser for ‘120 Bahadur,’ featuring Farhan Akhtar, was released on Sunday, accompanied by her enduring patriotic song, ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon.’ This song, written by Kavi Pradeep and composed by C. Ramchandra, was originally a tribute to the brave soldiers and martyrs of the 1962 India-China war, which is central to the film’s narrative. Set against the stunning backdrops of Ladakh, ‘120 Bahadur’ tells the heroic tale of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and his troops from the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who valiantly faced overwhelming enemy forces. Farhan Akhtar portrays Major Bhati, embodying the courage and camaraderie of Charlie Company.
The conflict in 1962 arose from disputed borders in Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh. The construction of a road by China through Aksai Chin heightened tensions, and failed diplomatic efforts resulted in a two-front offensive from China. India’s significant losses were due to inadequate military infrastructure and hesitation to utilize the Air Force, while global allies such as the USSR were engaged elsewhere. Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, the film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment, along with Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios. The teaser, paired with the resonant ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon,’ powerfully conveys the fearless spirit, sacrifice, and valor of the soldiers.
‘120 Bahadur’ is set for theatrical release on November 21, 2025, promising an emotional and patriotic cinematic experience.
