Speaking on the second day of her two-day dharna here on Thursday, Banerjee said she was hopeful that her two-day agitation would bring some response from the central government on the issue.

CM Mamta said that I waited till Thursday. I thought that at least out of politeness I would get a phone call from the central government assuring me of central dues payment. But nothing like this happened. Now the time has come to go to Delhi. If needed, we will beg and go to the national capital by hiring a train.

The chief minister said he had earlier held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting them to start paying central dues to West Bengal.

But when nothing happened, I decided to go on strike, he said. The next movement will be in Delhi. Without naming Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari, the Chief Minister said that he was actually taking the main initiative so that the Central dues could not be paid to the Bengal government.

The Chief Minister said that a traitor of the state is going to Delhi and continuously asking the Central Government to stop the payment of Central Dues and the Central Government is blindly following his suggestions.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Mamta once again launched a scathing attack against the central government over the alleged misuse of central agencies.
