Bhopal, March 30 (). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has reached Bhopal to participate in the three-day Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) of the three armed forces starting on Thursday.
The biennial event began on Thursday at Minto Hall. In this, the country’s top military officials will come together to brainstorm on military matters and national security.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the event on the last day of the conference on April 1 and address the military commanders in the valedictory session.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and State Home Minister Narottam Mishra welcomed Singh on his arrival in Bhopal on Thursday evening.
According to official information, the Defense Minister will meet state intelligence officers, after which he will reach the Chief Minister’s residence for dinner.
CCC’s exhibition named Fauji Mela was formally inaugurated on Wednesday in the presence of Chouhan.
Based on the theme Ready, Resurgent, Relevant, the event will be attended by Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chiefs of the three Services and senior military commanders of the three Services.
Various issues are likely to be discussed in the CCC this year, such as digitization of data, social media and challenges and opportunities of defense exports etc.
There is no need to hold the conference amid the geopolitical challenges posed by the ongoing military standoff with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and the war between Russia and Ukraine for over a year.
There could potentially be discussions on operational aspects relating to these issues.
On April 1, the Prime Minister will flag off the Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express train from Rani Kamlapati Railway Station here.
Chouhan had said that the Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 708 km between Bhopal and the national capital in 7.45 hours.
