Jaipur, April 17 (). Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje met the families of the victims of the 2008 serial bomb blasts here and assured them of justice.
After meeting the families of the victims on Sunday, she went to the Chandpole Hanuman temple, where she lit 80 diyas in memory of the victims of the May 13, 2008 serial blasts.
The Rajasthan High Court has acquitted all the four accused in the serial blasts case. Raje, however, prayed for punishment for the accused.
She said, I pray to Hanuman ji that the terrorists who brutally killed 80 innocent people in the serial bomb blasts in Jaipur on 13 May 2008, should be hanged at the earliest.
Raje also met the families of the blast victims and assured them that they would get justice. The relatives said that when the then BJP government of Raje had put those terrorists in jail and sentenced them to death by the lower court, they were expecting justice.
He said, but Ashok Gehlot’s government failed to present the case strongly in the court and could not provide justice. Hence the accused were acquitted from the case. Eventually, all the terrorists were acquitted and the hope of justice under the Congress rule began to die.
Raje said, the acquittal of the terrorists of the Jaipur blasts has doubled the agony of the families of the victims. Understanding their pain, today I have lit 80 lamps of faith in the Hanuman temple.
