Chandigarh, April 23 (). The Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over an elderly Pakistani national to the Pakistan Rangers in Punjab’s Ferozepur district after accidentally crossing the international border into Indian territory. This information was given in a statement on Sunday.
BSF personnel posted on the border apprehended a Pakistani national near the border fence when he crossed the international border into Indian territory at Bhakhra village under Ferozepur district on Saturday, BSF said in a statement.
It said that during interrogation, it was learned that Hakim Ali, a 75-year-old Pakistani national, resident of Kasur, had unknowingly crossed over into Indian territory.
Nothing objectionable was found on the person, the statement said. BSF contacted Pakistan Rangers and registered their protest. After this, on April 22 itself, at 8.33 pm, the Pakistani national caught was handed over to the Pakistan Rangers on goodwill and humanitarian grounds.
BSF always takes a humanitarian approach while dealing with unknowingly crossing the border.
