Mysuru, April 28 (). The high-voltage election campaign in Karnataka’s Varuna constituency turned violent when Congress and BJP workers clashed in Siddaramahundi, the home village of Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah. After this the BJP leaders warned him of the consequences.
Congress’s CM candidate Siddaramaiah is facing a tough fight with BJP’s V. Somanna.
BJP worker Nagesh, who was injured in the clash, has been admitted to a hospital in Mysore. Somanna and MP from Mysuru-Kodagu seat Prathap Simha met the injured party worker at the hospital on Friday and warned Siddaramaiah of the consequences.
Somanna told media persons that BJP workers were being threatened in Varuna constituency. He said, I will complain to the Election Commission.
MP Pratap Simha termed Siddaramaiah as a casteist. All the voters of Varun know about Siddaramaiah. All sections of the society are with Somanna. On one call from Somanna, the entire constituency will rise.
If Siddaramaiah continues to behave like this, we will be forced to take such steps which will disturb peace, he warned. We also have strength.
Pratap Simha said, there is frustration in Siddaramaiah’s camp. They are scared of defeat and keep on abusing and creating nuisance wherever Somanna goes to seek votes.
He said, BJP workers have been attacked with stones. Congress workers are pelting stones at BJP workers with buckets full of stones. They are targeting the BJP campaign.
