Ranchi, May 2 (). Police has revealed the case of a six-month-old baby kidnapped from Maharashtra being brought to Jharkhand and sold for two lakh rupees. Three people involved in this deal have been caught in Thane district of Maharashtra. The newborn has also been recovered. He has been handed over to his parents.
The arrested people made several revelations during interrogation. The case pertains to Bhiwandi area of Maharashtra. On April 14, a woman had left her child at a neighboring house. When the woman returned, her child was missing. He immediately complained about it in the police station. Police formed two teams and started investigation. In the CCTV footage, a young man was seen near the child. The police searched for that young man. When the youth was found, he was arrested and interrogated. He told that the child has been sold in Jharkhand. Also told the name of a person. When the police arrested him too, it was found that the child was kept in Naxal-affected Jeetkundi in Giridih district of Jharkhand. The child was sold here for two lakh rupees. A special team reached Ranchi and took back the child and handed it over to his parents.
