Responding to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement, he said that if the BJP does not come to power again, the state will not get the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Congress Parliamentary Party leader addressed a huge public meeting here.

Sonia Gandhi said that the BJP is concerned and troubled by the success of her son and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, as it was against those who are spreading hatred in the country.

He said that Karnataka and even India cannot progress without ending the atmosphere of BJP’s loot, lies, arrogance and hatred, as BJP has turned into an arrogant political party.

The senior Congress leader said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to intimidate Congress workers in Karnataka.

He said that the hand-twisting strategy of the Congress will not work. She was referring to the ED and Income Tax raids in the state against Congress leaders.

The Congress leader also recalled that she had won from Bellary constituency 24 years ago and how the people of Karnataka had treated her.

He also said that Karnataka had elected former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from Chikkamagaluru in 1978.

Sonia Gandhi said that the people of Karnataka are those who live with pride, and they will not accept corruption by the central and state governments.

He also said that it is the responsibility of the people to raise their voice against the dark rule of the BJP government.

Sonia Gandhi said that ahead of the May 10 assembly elections, the BJP has gone berserk and the party is resorting to all kinds of tactics and all kinds of repression against political opponents.
