Bhargava was admitted to the Aastha Center for Geriatric Medicine Hospital and Hospice in a semi-conscious state about 20 days ago.

Divorced 20 years ago, Bhargava has lived alone in the city’s Sahara Estate, Jankipuram, for a decade.

The consent of the doctors could not be obtained for immediate surgery. Dr. Abhishek Shukla, Director, Aastha Hospital, contacted the CMO for further direction and requested him to arrange some financial assistance.

After this the doctors of KGMU came forward and agreed to operate on the patient.
