Lucknow, May 17 (). Zafaryab Jilani, who was the advocate of the Muslim side in the Ayodhya-Babri dispute, died in Lucknow on Wednesday. Was running ill for a long time.
Jeelani’s son Najam Zafaryab told that his father breathed his last at around 11.50 am at Nishad Hospital in Lucknow. He was ill for a long time. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
Please inform that Zafaryab Jilani, secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), was ill for a long time. In the past too, his health had suddenly deteriorated once or twice. After which the relatives were admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow for treatment.
Zafaryab Jilani has been a member of the Muslim Personal Law Board. Apart from this, he has also held the post of Chairman of Babri Masjid Action Committee and Additional Advocate General of UP.
Despite not being in politics, Jilani remained in the headlines of the country for the last three decades. In the Ayodhya dispute, Zafaryab Jilani is known for consistently speaking firmly on the side of the Muslim side. Zafaryab Jilani was also made the convenor of the Babri Masjid Action Committee after the judgment of the Supreme Court.
Jilani’s close friends told that a few days back he had suffered a head injury due to slipping.
