Srinagar, May 23 (). In a significant development indicating changing times and changing attitudes, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday said the hartal call in Srinagar, which was once a simple phenomenon influenced by external forces, no longer affects the resilient people here. .
Speaking on the sidelines of the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting here, Singh stressed on the changed mindset of the people and attributed this to the growing disregard for strike calls coming from Pakistan.
Highlighting the historical context, Singh, Minister of State in Science and Technology and Prime Minister’s Office, said, there was a time when hartal calls were given from across the border and people of Srinagar responded by calling for a bandh.
However, we have seen a remarkable change, Singh said. Strike calls can be made from Pakistan and even within Srinagar, but people have demonstrated determination to continue with their daily lives, paying no heed to such calls.
Singh also expressed optimism about the positive impact on investor sentiment, assuring that they would return home with a clear message: the false narrative propagated by vested interests about Jammu and Kashmir no longer holds any merit. .
Emphasizing on the tremendous achievements under the current administration, Singh said, India has experienced remarkable growth in the last nine years under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He noted the resounding enthusiasm of the people, especially the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, who are eager to be a part of this progress and eager not to be left behind.
