In his appeal, Singh said that a large number of people were violating curfew restrictions and blocking roads, causing huge hindrance in the movement of relief material to the inmates in the relief camps.

He said the road blocks also hampered transport and movement of security personnel to deal with security threats from illegal armed groups in conflict zones in the foothills and interior places of the state.

In order to save the life and property of innocent citizens and to alleviate the difficulties faced by the relief camps, I appeal to the people of Manipur not to hinder and obstruct the free movement of security personnel and relief material, Singh said.

He urged all the concerned persons to return the arms and ammunition snatched from the Armed Police Battalions and deposit them in the police stations at the earliest.

The Chief Minister said, in case of unauthorized and illegal possession of arms and ammunition by any person during the search operation by the security personnel, or otherwise, legal action will be taken as per the Arms Act 1959.
