New Delhi, June 4 (). The family members of a 19-year-old girl, who was attacked with a knife by her eccentric boyfriend, had no idea about her troubles with the man at her workplace as she never mentioned them.
Amit (24) tried to slit the throat of Rithala resident Tanu Priya Sharma (19) with a knife at Creative Concept Design’s office on Friday.
The teenager survived the attack after other staff members rescued her, but Amit later committed suicide in a room in the same office, which is run by his sister and brother-in-law.
According to Tanu’s father Sanjeev Kumar, his daughter never informed him about her facing any problem or being harassed by any person at her workplace.
Kumar, a graphic designer, said the girl had passed Class 12 last year and was planning to join a college of her choice.
However, when she was unable to get admission, she opted to work for a while and around seven months ago, the victim joined Creative Concept Design.
Kumar recalled that soon after the attack, his daughter contacted him on the phone of one of her colleagues, pleading for help.
He said, when I saw him in the hospital, he had bruises on his hand, indicating that he had resisted the attack.
