The first meeting of opposition parties will now be held in Patna on June 23.

New Delhi, June 5 (). The first meeting of opposition parties, which was to be held on June 12, to discuss opposition unity ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, is now likely to be held on June 23. Sources gave this information.

Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar, who is spearheading a campaign to unite all like-minded parties to form an alliance against the BJP-led NDA for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, on June 12. The first meeting was called in Patna.

However, a source said on Sunday that the date of the meeting has now been fixed for June 23 in view of the request of Congress, DMK, CPI(M).

Earlier a source had said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader M.K. Stalin and the Congress also requested the Chief Minister of Bihar to extend the date of the meeting.

However, the Congress accepted the request of the opposition parties to attend the meeting already scheduled on June 12.

The meeting will now be held in Patna on June 23 on the request of other opposition parties and leaders like Sitaram Yechury, the source said.
