Balotra. A horrific road accident occurred in Balotra, Rajasthan, on Monday night, when an Alto car and a Bolero SUV collided head-on. The impact was so severe that five members of the same family lost their lives, while eight others sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving the information, local police rushed to the spot and, with the help of residents, transported the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Family Was Returning Home After a Doctor’s Visit
According to reports, 60-year-old Ashok Kumar Soni, a resident of Payla Kalan, owns a jewelry shop in Balotra. On Monday, he, along with his sons, daughter-in-law, and sick children, had traveled to Sindhri (Balotra) for a medical check-up. While returning home after buying household essentials, their Alto car collided head-on with a Bolero SUV coming from Gujarat on the Mega Highway, just 1 kilometer before their village.
The collision was devastating, resulting in the instant deaths of five family members, while eight others suffered severe injuries. The Bolero occupants were also returning home after a medical check-up in Gujarat, and they too were injured in the crash.
Emergency Response: Injured Rushed to Hospitals
Locals immediately alerted emergency services, and 108 ambulances arrived at the scene. The injured were rushed to the Sindhri Community Health Center, where doctors confirmed the deaths of four victims on the spot, while the remaining nine were admitted for treatment.
Due to the critical condition of three injured victims, they were referred to Jodhpur for advanced medical care. Unfortunately, during treatment in Jodhpur, one more victim succumbed to injuries.

- Beauty Soni (25), wife of Arun Soni (passed away during treatment in Jodhpur)

Balotra Police Investigating the Cause of the Accident
The Sindhri police reached the accident site, seized both damaged vehicles, and launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Authorities are examining whether speeding, reckless driving, or any other factor contributed to the collision.
