Chai Masala Recipe is a blend of aromatic spices that enhances the flavor of traditional Indian tea. Made with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and black pepper, this spice mix adds warmth and depth to every cup. Ingredients for Chai Masala Recipe:
- Dried ginger (sonth): 100g
- Cardamom: 50g
- Black peppercorns: 50g
- Cinnamon: 25g
- Cloves: 25g
- Fennel seeds: 25g
- Nutmeg powder: 1/2 tsp
Basil leaves: 10-12 leaves
Method:
- Roast the Ginger: Cut the dried ginger into small pieces. Heat a pan over medium heat and roast the ginger pieces until they are dry and slightly browned. Let them cool completely.
- Roast the Remaining Spices: In the same pan, add the cloves, black peppercorns, and cardamom. Roast for a few seconds, followed by the cinnamon and fennel seeds. Finally, add the basil leaves and roast for about a minute, until the spices are fragrant.
- Cool the Spices: Spread the roasted spices on a plate to cool completely.
- Grind the Ginger: Grind the roasted ginger pieces in a mixer to a fine powder.
- Grind the Remaining Spices: Grind the remaining roasted spices in the mixer to a fine powder.
- Combine: Add the ground ginger powder, the ground spice mixture, and nutmeg powder to the mixer and grind again until everything is well combined.
- Store: Transfer the chai masala powder to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place.
To use: Add a pinch of chai masala powder to your tea for a warm and flavorful beverage.
