In a recent celebrity legal case filed in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, along with six officials from Hyundai, have been implicated. The FIR was submitted following a complaint by Bharatpur lawyer Kirti Singh, who claimed that the car manufacturer deceived her regarding her Hyundai Alcazar, purchased in June 2022, which has been experiencing multiple problems. The dispute originated from Singh’s petition in the Bharatpur court, stating that she bought the vehicle from Malwa Auto Sales Pvt Ltd in Sonipat. She made an advance payment of ₹51,000 and financed the remaining balance with a loan. Singh alleged that the company assured her of a “garbage-free” vehicle, but after delivery, she encountered various technical difficulties.
The primary concerns of the lawsuit, as per her complaint, involved the accelerator and engine management system. Singh mentioned that despite several complaints to Hyundai, the company neither provided a solution nor offered to repair the vehicle or refund her money. Consequently, she opted for legal action. Acting on Singh’s request, the Bharatpur court directed the Mathura Gate police to file an FIR. Hyundai’s Managing Director Ansoo Kim, Chief Operating Officer Tarun Garg, and directors and managers of Malwa Auto Sales Pvt Ltd are named in the FIR. Furthermore, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are also included in the legal proceedings, as they are brand ambassadors for Hyundai and are accused of endorsing defective vehicles.
With the FIR registered, police investigations have commenced, and Deepika Padukone’s involvement in the legal situation is currently being examined, with further actions expected as the investigation unfolds. The actors have yet to publicly comment on the matter.
