A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of the woman involved in the BMW car accident that resulted in the death of a senior finance ministry official and injuries to his wife. The extension lasts until September 27. Judicial magistrate Ankit Garg made the decision, and the court also issued a notice in response to the woman’s request for the preservation of the accident’s CCTV footage, which will be reviewed on Thursday. Additionally, the court heard arguments regarding her bail plea and scheduled the matter for Saturday. Gaganpreet Kaur, 38, was initially remanded to two days of judicial custody on September 15 after her arrest on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and other offenses.
The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon on the Ring Road near the Delhi Cantonment Metro station, resulting in the death of 52-year-old Navjot Singh, a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, while he and his wife were returning home from visiting the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara.
