Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma has achieved a remarkable milestone in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings by reaching 931 points, the highest ever for a T20I batsman. This record was established following his outstanding performance in the Asia Cup 2025 held in the United Arab Emirates, where he was also awarded Player of the Series. At just 25 years old and a left-handed batsman, he surpassed the previous record of 919 points set by England’s Dawid Malan in 2020. Sharma achieved this new peak after scoring 61 runs against Sri Lanka and 75 runs against Bangladesh. He concluded the tournament with 926 points, leading by 82 points over Phil Salt of England, who is currently in second place.
Another notable performance came from Indian batsman Tilak Varma, who scored 49 not out against Sri Lanka and 69 not out against Pakistan, gaining 28 points to secure the third position in the rankings.
