The Haryana government placed DGP Shatrujeet Kapur on leave on Tuesday following criticism from the Opposition regarding the alleged suicide of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. Kumar’s family has called for action against the officers they claim harassed him. This decision comes shortly after the state government transferred Narendra Bijarniya, the former Superintendent of Police in Rohtak.
