A controversy has arisen regarding the Telugu film Prabhutva Sarai Dukanam, which is both written and directed by National Award winner Narasimha Nandi. Produced by Daiva Naresh Gowda and Parigi Sravanthi Mallik under SVS Productions and Sreenidhi Cinemas, the film’s recently unveiled teaser has sparked protests for allegedly featuring offensive material. Women’s organizations have expressed strong disapproval of what they consider vulgar dialogues and derogatory representations of the Telangana dialect aimed at women. Members of the Mahila Samaikhya association have lodged a formal complaint with Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce General Secretary Damodar Prasad, requesting a ban on the film’s release.
Mahila Samaikhya leader Deepa Devi remarked that the teaser “insults women and misrepresents Telangana culture.” Another member, Neeraja, emphasized that filmmakers are “disrespecting local identity for profit.” The group has threatened protests at the Film Chamber and Censor Board if no action is taken.
