Realme is ready to launch its highly anticipated GT 8 series in China on October 21, which includes the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro smartphones. The company has released several teasers leading up to the launch, showcasing significant enhancements in performance, battery life, and camera technology. One of the standout features is the 7,000mAh battery in the Realme GT 8 Pro, a notable upgrade from the 6,500mAh battery found in its predecessor. Remarkably, despite the increased battery capacity, the new model is slimmer at 8.20mm compared to the GT 7 Pro’s 8.5mm. The charging capabilities have also improved significantly, with the device supporting 120W wired fast charging, along with 50W wireless and bypass charging.
Realme claims that the GT 8 Pro can charge up to 50 percent in just 15 minutes, positioning it among the fastest charging phones available. The GT 8 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, providing vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling. An ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor enhances security and unlock speed. On the software side, the device will come with Realme UI 7 based on Android 16, offering the latest interface and system updates.
The camera system is noteworthy, featuring a Ricoh-certified triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor, capable of 4K video recording at 120fps with Dolby Vision. Realme is also introducing a customizable camera module design, allowing users to select from square, round, or robot-style options. Under the hood, the GT 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, along with Realme’s custom R1 chip for improved graphics performance and efficiency. The device is anticipated to offer configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, making it a strong contender in terms of speed and durability.
