In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, four men were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly robbing individuals at gunpoint while masquerading as auto drivers. The police encounter occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the Lohia Nagar industrial area, close to the Hamdard factory. A police team conducting routine checks attempted to signal an autorickshaw to stop, but the suspects—Nafees, Amir, Rihan, and Shoaib, all from Toli Mohalla in Loni—rammed the vehicle into a barricade and fled towards the railway line, injuring two sub-inspectors, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Upasna Pandey. A wireless alert was issued, leading another police unit in the area to intercept the fleeing vehicle. When surrounded, the suspects opened fire, prompting the police to return fire.

All four suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were subsequently captured. During questioning, they admitted to robbing passengers at gunpoint under the guise of being auto drivers.
