## Incident Overview
Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips were found on a roadside in Siwan city on Monday evening, raising new concerns about electoral processes just days after a similar occurrence in Samastipur. The slips were located in the Mouli Bathan neighborhood, leading to scrutiny of the Election Commission’s oversight. ### Official Response
District Magistrate and District Election Officer Dr. Aditya Prakash stated:
– The slips were from the commissioning period of the machines. – They are not linked to actual voting. All slips have been confiscated for investigation, and an FIR will be filed against the negligent employee.
### Investigation and Reactions
Senior officials, including Sadar SDM Ashutosh Gupta and City Police Station Officer Vinod Kumar Chaudhary, inspected the site. Following the discovery, Dr. Prakash and Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Tiwari arrived to manage the situation and the growing crowd. RJD leader Vinod Jaiswal suggested the incident might indicate vote manipulation, filing a complaint with the District Election Officer and requesting an inquiry from the Election Commission. A similar incident occurred last Saturday in Samastipur’s Sarairanjan area, where discarded VVPAT slips were also found. The Election Commission has not yet commented on either incident.
