OnePlus 15 Launching Soon in India: Innovative Design and Specs Unveiled

The highly awaited OnePlus 15 is set to officially launch in India in just two days, marking an early release for the brand. Typically, OnePlus introduces its flagship devices in the first quarter of the year, but this time, the company has expedited the launch to maintain a competitive edge. With competitors like Oppo Find X9, iQOO 15, and Realme GT 8 Pro preparing for their releases, OnePlus aims to seize early attention and lead the premium smartphone market. We received a preview of the OnePlus 15 prior to its India launch, and the initial impressions are encouraging. The device showcases a revamped design inspired by the OnePlus 13s.

The previously curved frames have been replaced with sleek, flat edges that provide a more contemporary, minimalist look. The back panel now features an additional camera sensor and a relocated flash, giving the camera module a unique appearance. Although the camera bump remains, it is well-balanced, similar to what is seen in other flagship devices. The Lavender variant we examined stands out with its soft, refined hue and glass-back finish. However, a notable change is the absence of the beloved Alert Slider, a feature that long-time fans will miss. In its place, OnePlus has introduced the new Plus Key, which allows users to switch between silent, vibrate, and ring modes with a long press.

The on-screen notch expands to visually confirm the mode change—similar to the iPhone interface. Interestingly, this customizable key can perform up to nine different functions, akin to the OnePlus 13s. On the display side, the OnePlus 15 excels with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel that boasts a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz adaptive refresh rate. Although it does not include the QHD+ panel found in some earlier models, OnePlus assures improved color accuracy and smooth performance. The display can dim down to 1 nit, enhancing comfort for night-time usage. Internally, the phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS storage.

It operates on OxygenOS globally, ensuring a streamlined and rapid user experience. The battery life is a standout feature of this model. The 7,300mAh battery supports 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, enabling users to recharge quickly. Photography enthusiasts will value the triple 50MP camera setup, which includes a Sony sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a 3.5x telephoto zoom. While the Hasselblad branding has been removed, OnePlus asserts that it will deliver improved color accuracy and night photography through its own tuning. The 32MP front camera allows for 4K 60fps video recording—a significant enhancement for vloggers and content creators. Regarding pricing, the OnePlus 15 is anticipated to be priced below ₹70,000 in India.

In China, it starts at CNY 3,999 (approximately ₹50,000)—a notable reduction from earlier models, hinting at a similar trend for the Indian market. The device will be available for purchase starting November 13 at 8:00 PM, with a special bundle offer including OnePlus Nord Buds and exclusive trade-in credits up to ₹4,000 for returning customers. With its polished design, flagship-level hardware, and competitive pricing, the OnePlus 15 seems ready to make a significant impact ahead of the holiday season.
