Patna: The internal strife within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has escalated following the party’s significant loss in the Bihar assembly elections. Former state minister Tej Pratap Yadav has accused his parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, of experiencing “mental harassment.” He has requested both the central and state governments to initiate an inquiry. Tensions heightened after allegations of mistreatment at Rabri Devi’s home, with Tej Pratap indirectly implicating Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Khan—individuals viewed as close associates of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav—in the situation. Without naming them, he threatened to “bury all these Jaichands in the ground,” referencing a historical term for traitors. His sister, Rohini Acharya, intensified the discord by making pointed comments on social media.
Tej Pratap stated on X that any disrespect towards his sister would be intolerable. “Jaichand will have to face the consequences for this misbehavior,” he remarked, describing the situation involving Rohini as “heartbreaking.” He noted that although he had faced personal grievances, the “insult” to his sister was unacceptable and emphasized that “the people of Bihar will never forgive those who attacked the family.” The family conflict became public after the election results, when Rohini claimed she had been mistreated at the former chief minister’s residence. Initially, she expressed her desire to leave politics and distance herself from the family, but later clarified that her issue was solely with Tejashwi, reaffirming her support for Lalu, Rabri, and her other sisters.
Tej Pratap’s recent allegations have further complicated the internal turmoil within the Yadav family, while the party leadership remains silent regarding the ongoing controversy.
