Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in a series of posts on X that these initiatives will lay a robust foundation for universal social security, ensuring timely wage payments, safe working conditions, and profitable opportunities for citizens, particularly women and youth. He asserted that these reforms will create a future-ready system that safeguards workers’ rights while bolstering India’s economic development. Modi noted that this represents one of the most extensive and progressive labor reforms since Independence, significantly empowering workers and simplifying compliance to enhance the ‘Ease of Doing Business.’ Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya added that the labor Codes will formalize employment, reinforce worker protections, and streamline the labor framework to be safer and more aligned with global standards.
