Muzaffarpur: A serious incident of ragging has emerged in the Paramedical Department of Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), leading the administration to implement prompt disciplinary measures. Principal Prof. Abha Rani Sinha has suspended seven second-year paramedical students from their classes for a duration of 15 days following an emergency meeting of the Anti-Ragging Committee. Officials reported that a complaint indicated junior students were allegedly called to the Super Specialty Block, where three of them had their hair forcibly cut. When they objected, the seniors are said to have physically assaulted them. The victims subsequently filed a written complaint with the Principal, which triggered immediate action.

Sources indicate that the suspended students are from various specializations, including two OT assistants, one laboratory technician, one ophthalmic technician, and one X-ray technician. All seven students are required to appear with their parents on December 2 for further administrative action. Principal Prof. Abha Rani Sinha emphasized that the institution maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. She noted that the incident has tarnished the college’s reputation and cautioned that stricter measures would be taken against anyone involved in similar behaviors in the future. The Anti-Ragging Committee is continuing to assess the situation as the campus community raises concerns about the safety and dignity of students.
