Patna: According to a recent report by tech analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International, Apple is preparing to introduce a new range of entry-level hardware as early as spring 2026. The company is reportedly working on a lower-cost MacBook, a new iPhone 17e, and the next generation of its budget iPad, all aimed at consumers looking for more affordable Apple products. The research note, shared with MacRumors, indicates that these 2026 launches will follow Apple’s recent initiatives to provide more budget-friendly smartphones. The iPhone 17e is expected to replace this year’s iPhone 16e, which is currently the most affordable model after the discontinuation of the long-standing SE series.
The new low-cost MacBook is anticipated to be powered by an A-series chip, potentially breaking from the traditional use of M-series processors. It may feature the A18 Pro chip, the same one found in the iPhone 16 Pro, and come with a 13-inch display in color options like silver, blue, pink, and yellow. Pricing for this device is rumored to fall between $699 and $899, significantly lower than the current MacBook Air. Apple may reduce production costs by incorporating older design features, a single USB-C port, and standard 8GB RAM. The iPhone 17e is expected to include an A19 chip along with an 18MP front camera and Apple’s proprietary C1 modem.
Despite these enhancements, analysts caution that the iPhone 17e will be a modest update rather than a complete redesign. The budget iPad is projected to feature Apple Intelligence capabilities for the first time, powered by the A18 processor, while any other alterations are expected to be minimal, maintaining the current exterior design. Pu’s forecasts align with previous reports regarding Apple’s staggered introduction of new hardware, with the iPhone 18 Pro series and the company’s first foldable iPhone anticipated in late 2026, and the standard iPhone 18 line, including the iPhone 18e and a new iPhone Air, expected in early 2027.
