During the 71st Wildlife Week celebrations, the Bolangir Forest division held a bike rally and recognized wildlife conservationists with certificates and monetary rewards. Environmental activist Abhay Tripathi, from Khaprakhol block in the Patnagarh sub-division, received the Chief Minister’s Wildlife Protection Award at the district-level World Wildlife Protection Week event. The ceremony took place in the conference hall and was chaired by DFO Ajit Kumar Bisi, with Bolangir District Collector Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar serving as the chief guest. Tripathi, who is also a journalist, received a certificate, a citation, and a cheque for Rs 25,000. Additionally, two other individuals, three students, and officials from the Forest department were also honored.
