New Delhi, April 30 (). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday criticized the Congress party for insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that abusing him is in the opposition party’s DNA.
Speaking to reporters in the national capital after listening to the 100th episode of the prime minister’s monthly address Mann Ki Baat, Sitharaman said Modi spoke like a pradhan sevak and there was no politics in the programme.
There is positivity in the spirit of the radio programme, he said.
The finance minister was responding to Congress’ jibe at PM Modi on his 100th Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast, saying there was much fanfare in the run-up to the episode, but it was maun ki baat (silence) on important issues, Such as the border dispute with China, stock manipulation allegations against the Adani group, growing economic disparities and protests by wrestlers against sexual exploitation.
The Finance Minister said that the Prime Minister talks about everything and if the Congress is inclined to talk about the agenda set by the first family of the party, then it is up to the party.
Sitharaman further said that the Congress has failed to realize that whenever it abuses the Prime Minister, people recognize his positive work for the nation more.
Rahul Gandhi talks about playing Mohabbat ki Dukaan, but his own party president is spewing venom (referring to Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks against Modi), he said. He (Kharge) is talking about a poisonous snake. So, you can understand where Rahul is going.
