After film industry, children of Kerala police officers are also consuming drugs in a big way

Kochi, May 25 (). Prominent stakeholders of the Malayalam film industry expressed concern over the increasing drug use in the industry. After this, Kochi City Police Commissioner K.K. Sethuraman on Thursday said that children of police officers are also consuming drugs on a large scale.

At the annual meeting of the Kerala Police Association, the Commissioner of Police said that children of police officers at all levels are consuming drugs. A Superintendent of Police has two children addicted to drugs and this has affected his family life as well. There should be a serious inquiry to stop the abuse of drugs on this large scale.

He further said that surprise inspection of police quarters should be done. The use of Ganja and MDMA has increased in recent times across the state. Even though the percentage of drug use in Kerala is low as compared to the national average, it may increase in no time.

Last month, key stakeholders of the Malayalam film industry expressed concern over the influx of drugs into the industry, following which state Culture and Film Minister Saji Cherian assured that the government would look into the issues seriously and convene a meeting with industry related Will call a conference of all concerned.
