Air India flight AI2380, which was set to depart for Singapore at approximately 11 pm, was delayed due to a technical issue at Delhi Airport. A journalist from PTI reported that the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner suffered from air-conditioning malfunctions and electrical supply problems. Over 200 passengers remained on board for nearly two hours before they were instructed to disembark and return to the terminal. At that time, the airline staff did not provide a reason for the delay. Social media videos showed frustrated passengers using newspapers and magazines to try to cool themselves. Air India has yet to comment on the technical difficulties.
This incident occurred just a few days after another Air India flight experienced a go-around at Delhi Airport on September 8 after abandoning its initial landing while traveling from Mumbai. The airline stated that Flight AI2910 from Mumbai to Delhi executed a go-around as part of standard operating procedures, landing safely on its second attempt, with all passengers and crew disembarking without issues. An Air India Express spokesperson emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew is the airline’s highest priority.
