New Delhi, May 12 (). The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended the license of an Air India pilot for three months. The pilot had allowed a female friend to enter the cockpit during the flight from Dubai to Delhi.
The aviation regulator has also imposed a penalty of Rs 30 lakh on Air India for failing to deal with the security sensitive matter promptly and effectively.
An Air India pilot on February 27 flouted DGCA’s safety norms and allowed his female friend to enter the cockpit of a Dubai-Delhi flight. For this investigation was going on against him.
A senior DGCA official had said in April that the incident was unacceptable and could have put the safety of passengers at risk.
Air India also said in a statement that it is probing the incident.
The airline has a zero tolerance policy towards passenger safety and appropriate action will be taken, the statement said. DGCA has also been informed about the matter. Air India is cooperating in the investigation. Investigation is also going on in Air India.
