Ajmer. A senior advocate, Purushottam Jakhetiya, who was brutally attacked in Ajmer’s Pushkar for protesting against late-night DJ music, succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning during treatment. His tragic death has triggered massive outrage among the legal fraternity in Ajmer.
In response, lawyers in Ajmer staged a strong protest, boycotting work at the Sessions Court and demanding strict action against the accused. Several rounds of discussions with authorities failed to yield results, and the victim’s family refused to accept the body.
The District Bar Association has called for a complete shutdown of Ajmer and Pushkar on Saturday. On Friday evening, lawyers also organized a vehicle rally across Ajmer to raise awareness and intensify their demand for justice.
