Amazon's Great Indian Festival 2025 Boosts Premium Product Sales in Telangana

Customers in Hyderabad are driving robust demand across various categories, with kitchen appliances increasing by 130% year-on-year, premium TVs by 25% year-on-year, and silver coins rising by 15 times year-on-year. Shoppers can now take advantage of a 10% instant discount on credit card and credit card EMI purchases using Axis Bank, RBL, IDFC, and Bank of Baroda cards, as well as IDFC debit cards. The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025, which commenced on September 22, has experienced enthusiastic engagement from customers and sellers throughout Telangana, yielding significant growth in smartphones, electronics, fashion and beauty, home and kitchen, everyday necessities, groceries, and large appliances.

With over a 50% increase in SMBs achieving sales exceeding INR 1 crore compared to the previous year, seller success has flourished at the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025. These achievements underscore the increasingly vital role of digital marketplaces in empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering inclusive economic growth across India. Key festive trends in Telangana indicate that premium options are leading the festive shopping surge: Smartphones priced above INR 20,000 experienced strong double-digit growth in the festival’s early days. In Hyderabad, premium soundbars gained popularity while premium TVs over 55 inches rose by 25% year-on-year, predominantly driven by brands like Hisense, TCL, and Samsung.

Premium appliances such as washer-dryers grew by over 100% year-on-year, and side-by-side refrigerators saw a more than 50% increase year-on-year, while silver coins and precious jewelry surged by 15 times year-on-year and doubled year-on-year, respectively. In terms of household essentials and groceries, Amazon Fresh rose nearly 40% year-on-year in the region, reflecting customers’ preference for convenient grocery shopping. Hyderabad customers purchased 3.7 times more avocados, with perishables increasing by 1.7 times and milk purchases up by 4.4 times compared to last year. The beauty category also experienced growth, increasing by 1.5 times in Hyderabad, with hair care styling growing by 1.6 times and the makeup category rising by 2 times.

Men’s watches escalated by 12 times, while women’s fashion saw an 8 times rise in demand for items such as Kurtis and sarees. Additionally, men’s ethnic wear experienced a 2 times year-on-year increase in demand. Home upgrades are also a focus area, with kitchen appliances rising significantly—over 130% year-on-year in Hyderabad, led by vacuum cleaners, along with over a 20% year-on-year uptick in kitchen storage and cookware. There was also notable demand for products like LED bulbs, chandeliers, recliners, and security items. Gardening essentials have also become more popular, with lawn and garden products increasing by nearly 75% year-on-year in Hyderabad, as gardening products and landscaping tools emerged as top choices.

As of Day 10, one in four customers is utilizing Amazon Pay instruments for shopping during the sale. UPI remains a favored option, with one in four orders placed through it, reflecting an 11% growth in UPI users compared to last year. Moreover, one in ten orders was made using the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card.
