Reliance ADAG Group Chairman Anil Ambani has once again not attended the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) summons to appear for questioning at the agency’s Delhi office, this time on Monday, concerning a FEMA investigation related to the Jaipur–Reengus highway project, as reported by sources. Previously, he also missed an in-person questioning on Friday after his request for a virtual hearing was denied. On Monday, he again requested to participate virtually. According to ED sources, the agency aims to document his statement under FEMA in a probe initiated following allegations that around Rs40 crore from the 2010 highway project, awarded to Reliance Infra, was improperly transferred abroad via shell companies based in Surat and funneled to Dubai.
Investigators suspect that this financial trail is linked to a broader international hawala network estimated to exceed Rs 600 crore. Anil Ambani submitted an email request for a virtual appearance to the ED on Friday in response to the prior summons.
