Guwahati, May 3 (). A man was crushed to death by a wild elephant in Assam’s Nagaon district on Wednesday. The officers provided this information.
According to forest officials, a wild elephant razed some houses in Lengteng village in Kaliabor area of the district.
When Ajit Chaura, a resident of the village, tried to drive away the elephant, it attacked him, leaving him seriously injured.
Ajit was later taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Ajit’s body was sent for postmortem.
According to reports, human-elephant conflict has increased in Assam over the past few years. Two days ago, wild elephants wreaked havoc in Tamulpur district, in which one person was killed.
According to locals, a man was crushed to death by an elephant near his house in Guabadi area of Tamulpur district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Rajen Pradhan.
