The US technology giant Apple is poised to achieve its highest festive sales figures in India, with analysts predicting a 28 percent year-on-year increase in 2025, driven by the early success of the iPhone 17 series. According to Counterpoint Research, sales growth is expected to reach record levels due to an aggressive n-1 strategy during the festive season, with the 17 series outperforming the 16 series. Analysts noted that the first week of sales for the iPhone 17 series saw a 19 percent increase compared to the iPhone 16 series. Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, remarked that Apple is effectively leveraging the premiumization trend in India.
The Pro and Pro Max models are seeing the highest demand, with stockouts reported across various channels, particularly for the Cosmic Orange variant. Enhancements such as upgrading the base variant to 256GB, along with cashback offers and up to 24-month EMIs, significantly increase its value. Moreover, the new iPhone 17 Air, despite being priced higher, is gaining more traction than last year’s Plus model.
