Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cloudflare are currently experiencing outages affecting hundreds of users. This marks a recurrence of a similar incident last month, which impacted millions globally. According to Downdetector, major cities in India such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai are among the hardest hit. The outage is not confined to India; users in the UK, US, and Australia are also reporting issues. In addition to AWS, Cloudflare, Valorant, and X (formerly Twitter) are experiencing disruptions as well. Initially, X encountered problems, followed closely by AWS and Cloudflare. Downdetector indicated that 2,915 users in India reported issues with Cloudflare, while 1,413 faced difficulties with X, and OpenAI recorded 331 reports.
Elon Musk had previously ridiculed AWS for an outage last month, asserting that X remained operational because it did not rely on AWS. He emphasized the security of X chats and its capability for calls and file sharing during internet outages. With X now facing similar challenges, it will be interesting to see Musk’s response to this situation.
